MOVA Studios is a BRAND NEW Reformer Pilates, Mat Pilates and Yoga studio on Boroughbridge Road in York. Opened in May 2026, the studio offers small group classes across three disciplines, with a Run Club launching later in the year.
Housed on the first floor of Hargrave House, the space has been designed around how it makes people feel. A pitched roof, exposed steel trusses and rooflights running the full length of the ceiling create a calm, warm and naturally lit environment, intentionally different from a standard gym setting.
MOVA was founded by qualified Pilates instructor Ruby McTough, with the aim of building a studio that welcomes every level. Classes are accessible to complete beginners and challenging enough for experienced practitioners, with instructors trained to adapt every movement to the individual.
To launch, the studio is running an intro offer of three classes for £35 for new members. Standard memberships and class passes are also available.
MOVA Studios is partnered with a number of independent local businesses across York as part of its Local Love programme, and is a member of Indie York.

- Prize consists of three x 4-class passes, issued one per month for three consecutive months from date of first redemption.
- Passes are valid across Reformer Pilates, Mat Pilates, and Yoga classes.

- Winner must be 18 or over and based within a reasonable travelling distance of York.
