Do you know someone aged between 6 and 11 years old who just LOVES animals?

Well….we have something VERY special that they can be selected for…

YorkMix has got together with Monk Park Farm to launch the Animal Academy.

At the Animal Academy, kids will learn about and help care for a variety of animals, both exotic and agricultural, at Monk Park Farm. They will learn about the animals and how to care for them from the experts at Monk Park Farm as they assist with tasks like feeding, cleaning, and health checks for animals during their Animal Academy visit.

The Animal Academy with Monk Park Farm is looking for budding animal fanatics aged between 6 and 11 years old from the North Yorkshire area to join our Academy and be part of filming our series – which will be broadcast on social media and online platforms for others to enjoy and learn about the animals too.

The lucky children (four per episode) who will be selected at random to join the Animal Academy and star in the series will join YorkMix for an afternoon of filming on a selected date (see dates below) after school alongside their Parents/Guardians.

Monk Park Farm is an award-winning, family-friendly farm park in North Yorkshire, offering a fun-filled day out for visitors of all ages. Prize

Four children will be selected each month to attend the filming of the Animal Academy by YorkMix at Monk Park Farm on selected dates shown below. If selected, winners will also get one free family pass to visit Monk Park Farm in 2026.

For the filming afternoon on selected dates (The first round of filming will take place on Wednesday 17 June 2026 at 4:15pm onwards) we would need at least one parent/guardians to come along with the children who are selected (one adult per child) to act as chaperones.
Winners who are selected will be required permission by the parent/guardian to be filmed and by accepting this prize parents/guardians who entered the child therefore give their consent (by taking part) that the child has permission to be filmed and give permission for that footage to then be broadcast onto social media and online platforms as part of the Animal Academy series.
Winners who are selected will be required to bring along with them to the filming 2 changes of clothing and wellington boots to avoiding infection on farm visits.

By entering a child to this application form you must be the parent or legal guardian of the child
You must be over 18 to submit an application to this competition
If selected as a winner please make sure there are no identifiable logos on clothing, no school emblems should be visible and branded costumes in images will be discarded.
YorkMix and Monk Park Farm reserve the right to show any image/video footage taken as part of this competition to us to use on all our broadcast channels online and on social media.

Applicants to this competition must be residents within the YorkMix Radio transmission area, of York and North Yorkshire.
