Work has started to prepare a landmark building in York city centre to welcome a new business.
Number 52 Coney Street, on the corner of Market Street, has been a jewellers for many years, first as Fraser Hart and more recently as Mappin & Webb.
It has been empty since Mappin & Webb moved to Davygate last year.
Then in August, YorkMix revealed that bath bomb emporium Lush was set to move here from its much smaller home further up Coney Street.
Now the work has begun to prepare for the Lush opening.
The old Mappin & Webb signage has been torn down. Workers have fenced off the building as they clear out the interior.
Plans submitted to City of York Council included a pledge to undertake a power wash of the marble facade before Lush opens.
These plans also show that the basement will be a stock room, the ground floor will be the shop and the first floor will include a staff room and offices.
Externally, new signs and a new colour scheme are proposed. Internally, Lush will be adding new partitions and a suspended ceiling.
The large corner building was built in 1931 and is Grade II listed. It was originally built for Burton’s Tailors.
