Tourist goes missing after failing to return to his bus in York

This is Randy Lockwood. He has been missing since 5.15pm on Monday (August 27) after failing to rejoin his bus in York.

He was on a coach tour of the UK. A friend of Randy’s has published this appeal on social media:

This is Randy Lockwood. He is my best friend’s brother. He is mid 40s, thin.

His beard and hair are a bit longer and grayer than this photo. He was on an organized tour of the UK and did not show up for his bus after a short stop in York.

He has been missing for more than 48 hours now. My friend is doing the conventional things. Contacting police, the tour operator and what not. I am trying to do some more “grass roots” searching.

Randy is a very nice guy, probably too nice. He is very trusting and probably has more money than sense. He recently cashed out a portion of his IRA/401k and took this trip.

He is a heavy drinker and enjoys shots of Jim Beam with his beer. Randy is very mildly mentally disabled, he may not know how to get home or contact someone without help.

North Yorkshire Police have been informed so if you spot Randy, call 101.

Mystery creature in the Ouse

Can you help the York Rescue Boat people identify this creature spotted in the Ouse? Guesses so far include stoat, pine marten, mink and otter…

Can anyone help us to identify this visitor to the River Ouse in #York. Its body is about 30cm long and was spotted swimming on Monday afternoon. @CRTNorthEast @RSPCA_Frontline @YorksWildlife pic.twitter.com/ciltno1h7p

Bat emergency in York – can you help?

A York Reddit user has a bat emergency – and he needs your help.

He posted on the social news website:

  • BAT EMERGENCY. There is a tiny bat stuck exposed on the wall outside my house.

It’s been there for 3 days. I’ve called the bat-people and they’ve said i need to get it down or it will die. I don’t have a ladder big enough to get up there. Can you help?! Do you know anyone who can?

The bat can just be seen on this pic

If you can help, drop them a line via this link.

York woman missing from Bridlington

Sharon Wilson
A York woman has gone missing from Bridlington and Humberside Police are asking for help to find her.

Sharon Wilson, 44, is white, 5 feet 4, white, with shoulder length mousey brown hair in a ponytail and wears glasses. She was last seen wearing a dark blue coat, blue jeans and brown boots.

She’d been visiting family in Bridlington and was last seen around 3pm on Monday (August 27) in the old town.

Her family had been searching for her before reporting her missing but they have been unable to find her.

It’s the first time she’s gone missing.

Sharon has money on her but no mobile phone. She’s also asthmatic and doesn’t have her inhaler on her. It’s thought Sharon could be upset after a recent argument.

If you see her please call 101 and ask for Humberside Police, quoting log 215 of 28/08/18.
