Traffic lights fixed after causing major jams
The faulty lights at the Mount / Dalton Terrace junction have been fixed again.
But the signals being stuck on red saw huge rush hour jams.
Adding to the problem was the closure of one lane of Holgate Road near the iron bridge due to emergency water works. It meant short journeys were delayed by an hour or more.
Bus company First York described the length of the queues on Twitter:
2/2 – The result is queuing traffic as far as Beckfield Lane on 5/5A and 59, Acomb on 1 and Askham Bar Tesco on 3/4/12. We have severe delays on these services. Please bear with us while we work our way through the traffic
