These pictures show the grim results of a vandalism spree in a York suburb.
Police have released a series of images of some of the damage and destruction that has occurred in Tang Hall.
They show a bin and a picnic table in Hull Road Park that were torched in arson attacks.
A fence has been pulled down and planters pulled apart.
In a social media post, York police said: “This is not acceptable and it will not be tolerated.
“In order to assist any parents / guardians that may be concerned regarding their children’s whereabouts or involvement, we would like to reassure you that we’re here to support you and work together.”
They also gave out “some signs that your child may be involved”:
1. Burn marks in clothing, smell of smoke
2. Unexplained burnt objects in their possession
3. Lighters and matches found amongst their belongings
4. A fascination with fire.
Police said yesterday they were ‘actively targeting’ the youths.
They said: “As your local Neighbourhood Policing Team, we would like to reassure the community that we are actively targeting any youths involved, and involving appropriate agencies, as well as robustly dealing with any criminal offences that are committed.
“Patrols are being conducted in the area, as well as dispersals issued to individuals where ASB is happening / is likely to occur.”
