One of York’s most famous streets now has a new shop which smells as good as it looks.
Born Of Botanics has moved into number 14, last occupied by Debbie’s Ice Cream.
The scents and candles shop is well known to York shoppers, as it has just move from its former home on Goodramgate.
It began life in 2016 as The Little Yorkshire Candle Company, opening the Goodramgate shop three years later. The company changed its name last month to reflect its expanded product range.
Founder Alex Hall knew it was time to move on. She said the Stonegate store, with 270 sq ft of trading space, has plenty of room for the expanded lines, which includes a newly-launched Memories Collection of candles, inspired by fond memories made amongst nature.
With seven scents to choose from, “you can take a journey to the blustery coast, traverse the Yorkshire Moors, or reminisce in your Grandpa’s vegetable garden – all from the comfort of your own home,” says Alex.
“Home fragrance, traditionally reserved for the winter months, has become increasingly popular all year round,” she added.
“Perhaps with more people working from home, a change of scent helps transform the office back into a lounge after a day’s work.”
To find out more, you can pop into the Stonegate shop which is now open daily. Workshops and pop up shops will return at the Goodramgate location later in the year.
Or you can browse the full range – including essential oils, diffusers and soaps, at the Born Of Botanics website.
