It’s not necessarily all going to be over today.
The Met Office has issued another weather warning for snow for northern England, including York and North Yorkshire, for tomorrow (Monday, 6 January).
Unlike today’s amber warning, the one in force between midnight and midday tomorrow is the lesser yellow warning.
The Met Office says there will be “further snow in places, along with icy stretches, leading to some disruption, especially to travel”.
It says we should expect:
- Some roads and railways affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services
- Icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths
- Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
Today’s snow has brought widespread disruption, with live updates on our blog.
