A person has been stabbed in York tonight (Thursday).
It happened on Baker Street in Clifton. Police were called to the scene at about 7.30pm.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Emergency services attended immediately. The male victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“Urgent enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances.
“Cordons remain in place at the scene, and members of the public are asked to avoid the area.”
Baker Street was taped off by officers.
Several marked police cars and an unmarked vehicle were in the Baker Street area. Officers in forensic gloves were collecting evidence on the street.
More police were making door-to-door enquiries along adjoining Shipton Street.



The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was also called, landing at nearby Bootham Park Hospital. It has since left.
Earlier in the evening, North Yorkshire Police said: “We’re currently responding to an incident on Baker Street, in the Clifton area of York.
“Officers are at the scene and police cordons are in place – please avoid the area at this time.”

The incident comes only days after a man was stabbed on Walmgate in York.
Detectives have issued details of a man they want to trace in connection with that incident.
Police said afterwards: “Officers believe the people involved are known to each other and although of concern and alarming to the people who witnessed it, officers believe that the wider public were not at risk.”
