A York restaurant has found a new home, and will open this Easter.
Back in February, we reported that Frango Eduardo was moving out of Spark:York – and into permanent digs in the former Cast Iron Bath Company shop at number 9 Colliergate.
But that plan fell through – as the owners decided to let it instead to sports footwear shop Up And Running.
Ted Hustler and partner Emma Hargreaves, who run Frango, told YorkMix that they were disappointed – but already had their eye on another venue.
And now that venue has been revealed. Ted and Emma announced on Instagram:
The moment you’ve all been waiting for…the return of Frango Eduardo and the best collaboration York has ever seen: Frango Eduardo x Supersonic. We are back, bigger & better than ever in a stunning new location.
Frango Eduardo is opening in the café in the Supersonic Gym, found in Stonebow House.
Offering a taste of Portugal with piri piri chicken and more, Frango Eduardo was a hit when it opened in Spark:York a year ago.
And it intends to expand its menu in Supersonic, “featuring plates of petiscos and some alternative main dishes.
“But fear not, we’re sticking to our roots and we’re still here to offer you our authentic piri-piri chicken thighs with our delicious salads and crispy fries!”
It opens on Good Friday (15 April). They say: “No bookings necessary, just walk in and take a seat – we can’t wait to serve you!”
