‘It’s fantastic!’ Generous folk donate massive pile of gifts for our Toy Appeal 2022
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
We asked our amazing YorkMix Radio listeners and YorkMix readers to help with the Toy Appeal 2022 – and boy did you surpass yourselves.
We have had hundreds of amazing toys donated by the incredibly generous people of York and North Yorkshire.
Gifts that filled 15 trolleys were donated at Asda at Monks Cross, and hundreds more were given via the conveyor belt at York Designer Outlet.
They span the age range from baby toys to presents for 16-year-olds.
Cyndi Walton of York Asda told Laura Castle of the YorkMix Radio Breakfast Show: “I’m super impressed.
“We’re going through a cost of living crisis at the moment. And every toy here is massively appreciated by all the families that they go to.
“It’s fantastic. Thank you to everybody!”
We have now collected all the toys which will be taken to a warehouse where YorkMix elves will wrap them.
And then they will be distributed by charities in time to spread some true Christmas joy this festive season.
