A lorry driver has been disqualified after causing this crash on the A1M.
It happened on the northbound carriageway at junction 53 for the A66 at around 6.15am on Wednesday 15 May.
The overturned HGV caused major traffic congestion at the time.
Driver Rafal Swiatek, aged 42, of Oakdale Avenue, Seacombe, Wirral, appeared at York Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Thursday).
He was banned from driving for 17 months, fined £200 and made to pay £80 victim surcharge.
He pleaded guilty for failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
If he agrees to complete a £250 driver course by 25 May next year, his road ban will be reduced by 17 weeks.
