A teenager has been arrested following the incident at a York supermarket at the weekend.
As YorkMix reported, store staff and shoppers confronted three people in the car park of Lidl on Thanet Road, Acomb.
They said they had witnessed them try to steal a trolley full of items from the supermarket.
A video shot in Lidl’s car park showed that two cars were in collision, and a member of the public took the keys from the blue Ford Focus at the centre of the incident.
