Happy birthday to us!
YorkMix Radio turns three years old today, and celebrated with this incredible cake.
Baked and decorated to perfection in the guise of a radio (DAB+ of course), it was presented to the station by Mrs YorkMix Radio herself!

Breakfast Club presenters Laura Castle and Leigh Nicholson were only too delighted to tuck into the cracking confectionery.
Laura said: “Wow! Three years on air today with YorkMix Radio.
“Three years of supporting and serving the community of York and North Yorkshire.
“A huge thank you to all of our listeners, supporters, friends, businesses. And of course, Mrs YorkMix Radio for the cake!”

Leigh added: “Happy third birthday YorkMix Radio! Proving that local radio is still alive and kicking, playing an important part in local communities, with incredible listeners.
“I am so proud to be a part of this amazingly talented team.”
Station MD David Green said: “When we first took to the airwaves in the midst of a pandemic, we couldn’t be sure what the future would hold.
How it began
“In fact, the last three years have surpassed all of our expectations. We are thrilled by the way York and North Yorkshire have taken us to their hearts.
“And we’ve loved becoming embedded in the community, whether that’s hosting spectacular events like the Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta, meeting so many youngsters on our Test The Teacher school visits, making a real difference with the Christmas Toy Appeals, or celebrating inspirational people at the Hero Awards.
“Thank you to all our listeners, supporters and business partners. We have some exciting plans for the future, and can’t wait to share them with you all!”
