No wonder they’re looking so happy at Joseph Rowntree School.
Nineteen of their students got six or more GCSEs at grade 7 or higher, over 10% achieved grades 7-9 in English and Maths and 71% of all grades are at grade 4 or above.
Altogether 66% of students gained a grade 4 or higher in English and Maths and Science results are very strong. There has also been a strong performance in the EBacc subjects of Geography and History.

It has been a fantastic morning at Joseph Rowntree School with students being delighted with their GCSE and BTEC results.
There are lots of individual success stories and we are looking forward to welcoming many of our students into our Sixth Form to continue their studies with us.
Overall, results have been good for students of all abilities. Students continue to make progress above the national average and we have seen strong results in English, Maths and Science.
Students have worked hard for these results and they have benefitted from first class teaching and strong pastoral support. I am really pleased for students and staff and wish all our students the very best of luck in the next steps in their education and careers.
Ben Coleman, Director of Sixth Form, added: “It is fantastic to have so many of our year 11 students coming to join us in the Sixth Form, as well as those coming to us from other schools in the region.
“After last week’s outstanding A level results we look forward to working with the new year 12 cohort to help them achieve great things in their A level studies.”
