Police are investigating a crash between a tipper vehicle and a car which left two children injured.
They collided on the A61 Carlton Road, between Thirsk and Sandhutton, at about 4.50pm on Tuesday 17 December.
Police said it was near the junction outside Toad Hall.
Crash location
A grey Mercedes, carrying two young children, was struck from behind by a Ford Transit tipper vehicle as it slowed to turn right at the junction.
The tipper vehicle did not stop at the scene.
The collision damaged the Mercedes and resulted in minor injuries to the children.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “While we have since identified the driver of the tipper vehicle, we are appealing for any dashcam footage or CCTV footage that could assist in the investigation.”
