A York restaurant has made it to the shortlist of a prestigious award event.
The Everest Gurkha Nepalese Restaurant is up for honours in the Asian Curry Awards 2023.
And now it needs your vote to help it win!
Everest Gurkha is the only York restaurant among the 200-strong shortlist which covers venues across the UK.
The Fossgate restaurant “offers a holistic experience reflecting traditional cuisine (Nepali Khana) of pure Nepali quality and taste,” its website says.
Diners love it. It has a 4½ out of 5 rating on Tripadvisor. One reviewer said: “Best restaurant we have eaten at! The service was just as amazing as the food.”

Another said: “Service was immaculate. Nice busy vibe in the restaurant. Food was amazing.”
Described as the ‘curry Oscars’, the awards are the biggest event in the Asian culinary calendar.
The list of over 200 venues across the country will now be whittled down to the top hundred by online votes from members of the spice loving public.
You can vote for Everest Gurkha here.
These will be then assessed by a panel of judges from the Asian Catering Federation (ACF), who will determine category winners.
The victors will be revealed at a gala dinner and presentation ceremony, hosted by BBC news anchor Samantha Simmonds, being held at the Grosvenor House in London on Sunday 19 November.
The Asian Curry Awards cover the complete range of Asian and Oriental cuisines: Bangladeshi, Burmese, Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Middle Eastern, Pakistani, Singaporean, Sri Lankan, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese.
“We’re seeing some remarkable innovation by pioneering restaurateurs, adapting to challenging trading conditions and more sophisticated customer preferences,” said ACF Chairman Yawar Khan.
