A boat went up in flames close to York city centre last night (Monday).
Multiple people called 999 after spotting the fire.
Firefighters from York and Acomb were called out at 8.38pm.
The 15 metre long boat was moored in the Foss Basin.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to put out the flames. A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said the vessel was “significantly fire damaged”.
No cause for the fire has been given as yet.
