He is a feature of York almost as recognisable as the Minster.
And now you can take Purpleman home with you – in the form of this very snazzy T-shirt!
It is on sale at Take One Gifts – the TV, film and pop culture shop on Shambles.

Purpleman is now in the middle of a 100-day non-stop slow motion walk for charity – all conducted up and down Shambles.
All profits from sales of the T-shirt go to NHS charities, tying in with Purpleman’s fundraising efforts.
Shop owner Chris Roper told YorkMix: “One day, I put some money in his bucket. And I’m not sure whether he was joking or being serious, but he joked about doing a T shirt.
“I went away kind of thought about it. And it actually sounded like a better idea than I first thought!”
Reluctant superhero
The very talented Aimee, who is a tattoo artist at Unique Ink on Shambles, created the design.
“I’m really pleased with how it came out, it looks good,” Chris said. “And it fits the sort of comic book / superhero theme of the shop quite nicely.
“Purpleman is York’s superhero!”
“I’ve always wanted my own T-shirt. And I am a reluctant superhero,” Purpleman said.
“To be alongside superheroes like David Bowie, the Lost Boys, Darth Vader and The Goonies is something of an honour!”
People have bought T shirts then brought them for him to sign. “There’s a lot of love in York – despite what’s happened.”
And could this be the start of a whole range Purpleman merchandise? “It could be. Watch this space on YorkMix!”
