A car has driven into the York fountain.
The silver Mercedes was discovered this morning with its front end in the water of the Exhibition Square fountain.
It was stuck next to the statue of William Etty outside York Art Gallery. There was no sign of the driver or any other occupants.
Police were called to the scene, and arranged for a removal truck to take the car away.
Investigations into how the car ended up in the fountain are continuing.
