Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland has released its dates for this year’s festive season – and early birds will get a big discount.
The award-winning outdoor ice rink, funfair, and Santa’s Grotto, will be back at the Designer Outlet from Friday 15 November to Sunday 5 January.
The Ice Factor will return with exciting new additions and upgrades. For example, the ice rink will be using upgraded ice rink technology to provide a better skating experience.
And that early bird discount is 20%, up from 10% last year (CODE: SKATE20). This applies to all adult, child, concession, and family tickets until the 30 September. Tickets can be purchased now, from their website.
Paul Tyler, centre manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York said: “Christmas at York Designer Outlet just wouldn’t be the same without Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland.
“For many families the event has become a fixture in their festive calendar with fun outdoor activities for all ages to enjoy, as well as the opportunity to tick off the Christmas shopping list!”
The 30ft high sparking Christmas tree, surrounded by illuminated trees, the rink-side cafe and terrace, and the viewing platform makes the magical setting an ideal festive experience for all ages.
With the addition of two extra skating sessions per day, the frequent skater pass has been introduced for those hoping to make the most of the seven-week season. Skaters can collect stamps from the box office over five sessions, and the sixth is free.
Georgi Wood, event organiser of Yorshire’s Winter Wonderland said: “We will also have some fun new decorations and theming around the event, making it the perfect place for the festive selfie!”
The funfair will cater to all ages, with modern rides such as the Twist, the Waltzer, the Miami, along with some vintage favourites, the Dodgems dating from 1973. Children’s rides and games stalls offering prizes will also be there to entertain the little ones.
After working up an appetite on the ice, there’s plenty of food options to indulge in. A new and improved Dog Haus ‘bratwursterie’ will be on offer, providing grilled sausages and mulled wine.
There’s also two cafes to choose from, the Chalet cafe and the apres-ski cafe, with a range of winter warming grub, sweet treats, and hot and cold drinks.
Meet Santa Claus, explore the funfair, whiz around the rink, and enjoy some tasty treats in the cosy alpine-themed eatery, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
