Yorkshire’s tastiest marathon is set to return – with fantastic food and fancy dress.
The foodie celebration organised by Visit Malton starts and finishes in Malton’s Market Place and takes participants out into the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside – with some delicious stops on the way.
YorkMix Radio are hosting once again and will be bringing entertainment and encouragement, plus live music from the New York Brass Band.
The Marathon du Malton returns on Sunday 17 September 2023.
The race is inspired by France’s Marathon du Medoc, a trail across the European wine region.
It will showcase a range of delicious offerings from local producers, such as mini roast beef and Yorkshire puddings, macarons from Malton’s own legendary Master Patissier Florian Poirot, brownies, game terrine – and more.
Ryedale Vineyards, Rare Bird Gin and Malton Brewery will be on hand providing the drinks.
Fancy dress is encouraged, with prizes for the best dressed!
There are three race options on offer:
- The Malton 10k – for the serious runners, no food and drink stops, just you vs the clock!
- ‘Le Classique’ 10k – the main event – a 10k, with food and drink.
- ‘L’Escargot’ 10k – same as ‘Le Classique’ but a 10k just for walkers – dogs on leads also welcome.
Whether you want to walk, jog or feast your way around the course – it’s completely up to you. The only rule is to have fun.
Tickets are available from £15. For more information or to buy your tickets, head over to the Visit Malton website.
