Some people in part of York raised concerns about the quality of their drinking water after a few reported suffering stomach complaints.
Yorkshire Water has told YorkMix they investigated the reports in the Bishopthorpe Road area but say tests show the tap water is fine.
One resident told YorkMix that she had been feeling quite unwell and other neighbours had said the same.
She said they thought at first it might be Covid but attention turned to the tap water pipes.
She and others, she added, were using bottled water for drinking until they here back from the water company which has now happened.
No cause for concern
A Yorkshire Water spokesperson told YorkMix:
“Yorkshire Water was contacted by one customer in the YO23 area of York concerned about their water quality.
“A sample was collected from the customer’s property on 29th July and at time the sample was taken the water was clear for all indicator bacteria.
“Further samples were also collected on 30th July, these were also clear for indicator bacteria.
“Yorkshire Water has no cause for concern regarding water quality in the Bishopthorpe Road area of York.’
