YorkMix are proud to announce partnership with LGBTQ+ charity York Pride – pledging a full year of support.
The year round support package includes providing storage facilities for the items owned by the charity for the Pride event – as well as YorkMix presence and advertising for fundraising events and initiatives taking place over the next 12 months to raise vital funds for the big day.
York Pride has become a key date in the diary for both locals and tourists, with thousands attending the free celebration every June.
Like most major York events, it had a two year absence due to the pandemic but it returned this year with a bang.
David Green, managing director of YorkMix Radio said: “We are thrilled to be supporting York Pride all year – we recognise that the event is planned months in advance and there is lots happening throughout the year and ongoing costs.
“YorkMix is committed to supporting the community in any way possible.”
York Pride is a registered charity and the committee is made up of a team of dedicated volunteers led by Pride chair, Greg Stephenson.
The event starts at York Minster, then a colourful parade makes it way through the city to the racecourse – where attendees can enjoy stalls, rides and live performances by local, national and international acts.

Greg Stephenson, York Pride chair, said: “Putting on North Yorkshire’s largest annual LGBT+ Pride celebration takes a lot of work, effort, money and we could not do this without the support of local businesses.
“We are always thankful to our supporters and we would particularly like to thank the YorkMix team for their support pledged throughout the upcoming year.
“Of course it doesn’t all happen just in Pride month, the planning for 2023 has already started.”
The 2023 York Pride date is yet to be announced – but watch this space for all the exciting events over the next 12 months.
