Dog & Bone Vintage
If you’re a vintage clothing enthusiast, Dog & Bone on Castlegate is a must visit. Browse through two floors packed with menswear and womenswear from eras like the 60s up to the 00s. The hand-picked collection has brands such as Christian Dior and Levi’s on offer, as well as an apothecary range.
Bowler and Betty
Featuring retro and reproduction clothing and accessories, the recently rebranded Bowler and Betty is a shop you could browse in for hours. With treasures hiding in every corner, and pieces inspired by the 20s, 40s, 60s and more there is so much in here waiting to be discovered and loved.
Nestled in the middle of Goodramgate is this unique shop selling vintage, re-worked and branded items. The items are hand-picked from Europe and America, and they stock both mens and womenswear. With brands such as Adidas, Nike and Levi’s, as well as Chinese Laundry’s own brand to browse through.
A funky vintage and retro shop on Walmgate that specialises in American sports clothing! Choose from American football, basketball, ice hockey, baseball jerseys and more. Also stocked in the shop are even more vintage clothing and accessories to hunt through.
Just around the corner from York Minster is this delightful charity shop, that also stocks vintage and retro goodies! Spread over two floors, the bottom floor is home to donated second-hand stock while there are many vintage treasures to be discovered on the second floor.
The Antiques Centre York
Located in a Grade II listed building on the historic Stonegate, this is a must-visit for anyone interested in antiques. There’s five showrooms spread over three floors and over one hundred dealers from around the country – and there’s also a tea room! With antiques covering periods such as Georgian, Victorian, Art Deco and more there’s something for any taste.
This shop on Stonegate will surely satisfy all your antique and period jewellery needs! With beautiful pieces to suit every occasion, something is sure to catch your eye here. The prices are pretty premium though, but there’s no harm in looking…

The Red House Antique Centre
You’ve almost definitely seen this iconic red building while walking around the city, but have you ever taken a look inside? Inside is packed full of antique collectables from furniture to glassware to jewellery – and even records!
