A local village shop will be closing its doors for good this weekend.
Naburn Village Shop announced the closure on social media, stating that its final day of trading will be this Sunday (29 June).
Located in the Reading Room at Naburn, the shop was established in November 2022 after owners Alison Owens and David Martin reached an agreement with Naburn Parish Council to use the premises.

The store offered a range of fresh produce, including fruit and vegetables, baked pies, pastries and tarts, dairy products, meats and poultry.
Despite the closure, customers will still be able to shop their produce at Lodge Cottage Farm Shop in Crockey Hill, just over 2 miles away.
Alison shared a “thank you and farewell” statement on Facebook on Tuesday (24 June), notifying customers of the news.
The post read:
“To our valued customers, this chapter is coming to an end, and we want to let you know that our shop will be closing on Sunday, 29th June.
“We are truly grateful for your support and custom, and thank everyone who has taken the time to shop with us.
“While this part of the journey is closing, you can still find us at Lodge Cottage Farm Shop, Crockey Hill, where we look forward to welcoming you.
“With heartfelt thanks, Alison.”
