Calling all young inventors! Here’s how you could win free theatre tickets and have your invention featured on stage in York.
The Joseph Rowntree Theatre Company is seeking young budding inventors – with the chance to have their invention featured in their upcoming production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
The competition is open to children or children’s groups and classes aged 16 and under, and is looking for designs of inventions to be used as props in the show.
Successful entrants will get the chance for their inventions to be used on stage, and the top three inventors will also each receive two free tickets to see Beauty and the Beast.
Take a look at the video above, where cast member Paul Blenkiron, who’s playing Belle’s father Maurice, explains more about the competition.
Beauty and the Beast is at Joseph Rowntree Theatre from Tuesday 4 to Saturday 8 February 2025.
Once you’ve made your invention, take a photo or video of it in use and write a short description about what it is and what it does. Then send your entry to [email protected].
The competition closes on Saturday 11 January 2025.
