A new Greek restaurant and bar is set to open in York.
Inos, a Greek taverna and bar, will open at 7-9 Piccadilly, in what was previously the Piccadilly Café Bar and Escape Rooms.
It is a new venture for Greek street food vendors Sasa, who are currently serving up delicious delights at Spark York. The opening will mark its first brick-and-mortar location, after planning application was approved in October last year.

Sasa was founded by Martin Tsatsas, and the family-run business offers Greek cuisine such as souvlaki platters, greek salads, halloumi wraps, baklava, and more.
It first opened at Spark in 2021 before moving to a bigger unit in 2023. Now, it’s expanding into the city centre.
It will be the latest Spark York-incubated business to move into its own bricks-and-mortar premises, following in the footsteps of the likes of Tasca Frango and Clucking Oinks.
It will also make Piccadilly even more of a foodie spot, alongside places like Spark itself, Cresci Pizza, German Doner Kebab, and Pepe’s Piri Piri.
A ‘taverna’ means a small Greek restaurant or cafe, with ‘inos’ meaning wine.
Inos’s location was previously home to the Piccadilly Café Bar and Escape Rooms, which began life as Rehab before a name change.
It was opened in 2019 by the same team behind the Habit on Goodramgate, and closed in February 2024 as the owners sought to put family first.
According to the planning application, the first floor and the basement rooms will be turned into a restaurant with proposed opening hours of 8am to midnight, seven days a week.
Inos is also hiring. They are currently looking to fill chef, bartending, and front of house positions – if you’re interested, please send your CV to [email protected].
An opening date is yet to be announced, but watch this space.
