A York village squash club are taking on an extraordinary 24-hour challenge – all in aid of OSCAR’s Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity.
It’s set to be a marathon of epic proportions, as members of the award-winning Wigginton Squash Club rally together for a great cause.
Taking place from 10am on Friday 9 to 10am on Saturday 10 May, the club’s courts will come alive with nonstop action from players of all ages and abilities.
Recently crowned National Club of the Year by England Squash, Wigginton boasts eight teams across five divisions and every team will be represented in the event.
Spectators can expect thrilling matchups like under-10s versus over-70s, sibling rivalries, family matches – with some matches featuring three generations of the same family sharing the court, and a previous British Junior Champion.
Club member Dale Waddington, who has personal ties to OSCAR’s charity, will simultaneously embark on a 24-hour rowing challenge, right from the club’s bar. A second rowing machine will be on-hand so supporters can row alongside Dale – even if just for a few hundred metres – to show solidarity with his effort.
Throughout the event, visitors can join in the fun with activities including the Nine Dart Challenge, Ping Pong Challenge, and the popular Big Raffle.
