It’s nearly time for a famous High Street name to make its comeback in York.
Fashion retailer Bonmarché will start trading in its new Coppergate Centre store at 9.30am on Thursday (12 September).
The Lord Mayor of York Cllr Margaret Wells will cut the ribbon and welcome the first shoppers through the door.
The first 100 customers to the store will be in with the chance of winning free prizes and discounts – including the opportunity to win a free outfit – through a lucky dip.
Bonmarché area manager Claire Robinson said: “We are so excited to be able to welcome shoppers into our new York store.
“The store design looks amazing, and we are sure our new and existing customers will love it!
“We will open with all the latest styles including an amazing selection of transitional styles to prepare our customers for the unpredictable British weather.
“On opening day, the first 30 purchasing customers will receive an exciting Bonmarché goodie bag, plus there will be lots of discounts and prizes to be won for those visiting us in-store!”
The store will stock the latest trends in sizes 10-28, providing “inspirational fashion for real women”. Collections available include the Lorraine Loves Edit; curated by TV presenter Lorraine Kelly.
The Bonmarché York store opens as the brand announces plans to ramp up their expansion plans over the next 18 months, bringing more stores to the UK high streets.
The opening of the new York outlet comes two years after the chain closed its store on Goodramgate.
A selection of job roles have thanks to the Coppergate Centre store, with staff on already site preparing the store ahead of the grand opening.
If you can’t wait till Thursday you can browse the collections on the Bonmarché website.
