Police in York are appealing for witnesses and information about a robbery in which cash and bank cards were stolen from the victim.
The incident, which occurred on Carnot Street, in the Leeman Road area, at around 7pm on Sunday 9 December 2012, involved a man aged in his 40s who was attacked by three men wearing hooded tops.
He was threatened and assaulted which resulted in cuts to his face. The injuries were described as non-serious.
The three men made off in a car believed to be a green Vauxhall Corsa.
Police were alerted to the scene shortly after the incident and extensive enquiries were carried out to locate the suspects.
This led to a warrant being executed at an address in Norton, near Malton, at about 6.30am on Monday 10 December 2012. A 26-year-old local man was arrested in connection with the investigation.
A 43-year-old man was arrested in York at 3pm on Monday.
Following questioning, they were released on conditional police bail pending further enquiries.
Officers are continuing to search for the remaining suspect and are appealing for the public’s help.
Detective Sergeant Alan Rowan, of York CID, said: “This was a nasty incident which left the victim in a very distressed state. We are doing everything we can to bring the offenders to justice.”
DS Rowan added: “To assist the investigation, we are appealing for witnesses or anyone who recalls any suspicious behaviour in the Leeman Road area of York on Sunday evening, to come forward as possible.
“In particular, we need to know about any sightings of a green Vauxhall Corsa that the suspects are believed to have travelled in.
“Even the smallest piece of information could be very useful.”
