A York restaurant is a finalist in the inaugural British Curry Championship.
The British Curry Championship which aims to ‘support and promote the curry industry’.
And Bombay Spice, on Goodramgate, is a finalist for the ‘Customer Favourite Of The Year’ award.
It isn’t the only North Yorkshire restaurant to be featured.
Ruchee Indian Restaurant in Settle and Mastabs in Skipton have been nominated for the ‘Yorkshire Curry Champion Of The Year’.
Bengal Lounge in Wetherby is nominated for the ‘Nation Curry Restaurant Of The Year’, and Jaflong Bangladeshi & Indian Restaurant in Ripon is up for the ‘Curry Dish Of The Year’.
A spokesperson for the British Curry Championship 2024 said: “These awards promise to be a memorable event that honours the dedication and hard work of the nominees and celebrates the rich tapestry of flavours that the curry industry brings to the culinary landscape.
“More importantly they will cement the curry as the nation’s favourite dish and celebrate the economical contribution curry houses across the UK make to the British economy.
“We would like to congratulate all our finalists and wish them all the best of luck.”
The event is organised by Oceanic Consulting, which already delivers several curry awards around the country – including the Scottish, English and Nations awards.
