York Rescue Boat and the RSPCA have worked together to rescue a juvenile swan that had become entangled in fishing line.
The teams went to the Foss Island area of York, and once the swan was safely caught it was handed into the care of the duty RSPCA Inspector.

Dave Horn of York Rescue Boat told YorkMix Radio that it was a difficult rescue.
They had to use their inflatable to paddle over to the swan which was in the shallow area of the river, full of reeds.
The bird had a fishing line caught around its wings and legs and it looked like it had been struggling for a long time.
It appeared quite lethargic but once the fishing line was removed it perked up.
