A York pub was flooded after the reckless action of two gig-goers last night (Friday).
It happened in the Fulford Arms, on Fulford Road.
The pub was hosting a lively night of music, featuring six bands including Street Soldier and Idle Eyes.
But then it all went wrong for the pub, run by Chris Tukes.
Two women climbed onto a radiator to watch the music. And when it promptly collapsed, sending water across the pub, they scarpered.
A post on the Fulford Arms Facebook page said: “To the two young ladies who stood on a radiator to get a better view last night… pulling the radiator off the wall and flooding the venue.
“You’re not welcome here anymore so please don’t bother coming back. If you do you’ll be landed with a bill for the damage and the extra staff hours for the clean up.
“Thanks to the lovely people who stuck around and helped us! Much love to you!”
The incident prompted dismay from the many fans of the Fulford Arms. A number offered to chip in to a crowdfunder to repair the damage, but the pub said there was no need.
And there were a few choice words for the pair who caused the damage and then left. One person said their behaviour was ‘inexcusable’ and another called it ‘absolutely shocking’.
