Could you perform on the main stage at York Pride in 2025?
York Pride are launching their first ever ‘York Pride Has Talent’ – a new competition that is searching for a local singing star to perform on the main stage at York Pride on Saturday 7 June 2025.
The winner will perform alongside headline act RuPaul’s Drag Race star La Voix, and receive a prize of £250.
The inaugural York Pride Has Talent will take place at the Basement at City Screen on Friday 31 January 2025.
Entrants must be aged 18 years and over, and can register their interest by emailing [email protected] by Tuesday 31 December 2024.
Finalists will then be announced on Friday 3 January 2025, with tickets for the event on sale from Monday 6 January 2025.
The finalists will perform a song for the judges and each will be scored out of 10 – with the singer scoring the most points being crowned the 2025 winner.
The event will be hosted by YorkMix presenter Laura Castle with four judges including local influencer Jack D Marsh, The Sheriff of York Fiona Fitzpatrick, Mad Alice and York Prom’s Rebecca Newman.
This competition will run alongside York Pride Drag Race 2025, which is being held on Friday 28 March 2025 also at the Basement, City Screen.
Events and outreach director for York Pride, Stuart Jarman, said, “York Pride Drag Race is one the event highlights in the York Pride calendar and we have crowned some amazing local drag acts over the five competitions held.
“We are excited to crown our first winner of York Pride Has Talent and we have a great line up of judges to help us achieve this.”
