A York post office has closed suddenly.
The Market Place branch on Colliergate has been shut for several days.
A sign on the door says: “This Post Office is temporarily closed.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances this branch is closed until further notice.”
It advises customers to use the branch inside WHSmith on Coney Street or the one at Walmgate Bar.

Cardboard has been placed across the windows.
The web page for the branch also marks it as closed.
The post office, with two counters and a travel money bureau at the back was also a phone repair shop.
A Post Office spokesperson said: “Market Place Post Office has been temporarily closed since May 6 due to unforeseen circumstances.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused. We do not yet have a date for the re-opening of this branch. In the interim alternative branches include York, Walmgate Bar, Heworth which are all within a mile of Market Place branch.”
