A new podcast and website have been launched to help young people with their mental health.

The Chat Chit podcast has real conversations with young people from York about their mental health, their struggles, when and where they got help and how they manage their mental health on a daily basis.

And there’s a lot of other chit chat along the way – from jam to Scooby Doo.

The podcast is one part of Yormind, a new website specifically for young people in York.

It has a wealth of information about mental health conditions and misconceptions, written for young people in collaboration with young people.

And there’s also lots of the mental health services in the city listed with their referral processes and whether they are accepting new referrals.

The podcast has weekly episodes, while the website will be updated fortnightly with any changes to services, service statuses and locations.

A spokesperson said: “There are three young advisors we have employed to direct the project and have worked with services all over the city to write their pages and proof read the information.

“This whole project has been sculpted by young people.

“There were over 200 young people from schools, workshops and youth services in the city who have worked on the project throughout to find out what York’s young people really needed to support their mental health and build the system changing Yormind website and chat chit podcast.”
