A York path has been closed while City of York Council investigate a potentially unsafe footbridge.
It’s close to the A1079 at Kexby.
The closure affects the public right of way number 15/17/20.
Path location

A public notice says that pedestrians are prohibited on the footpath at Kexby “between its junction with the A1079 Hull Road and a location 185 metres north of said junction (closed public right of way), due to an unsafe footbridge being discovered”.
It will be closed until 11.59pm on Wednesday 28 May “or when the bridge has been made safe, whichever is earlier. This is to ensure the safety of route users”.
Signs and barriers will be in place until then.
