York Music Latest: Howling good EP from Wolf Solent

If you’re a fan of Mercury Rev or slacker rock with bags of fuzz, we have just the thing for you from Wolf Solent.

That’s the latest solo project from Danny Trew Barton, who is well established in the city as the finest purveyor of garage sounds with a mesmerising psych undertone.

You may already have caught Danny’s work in bands such as The Illness or the White Firs – in fact it may be easier to list the York bands he hasn’t been in over the last five or six years.

We have Joe Coates and Dom Berry at Sea Records to thank for the just-released Wolf Solent Lifeboat EP.

Wolf Solent play The Basement on June 19, with New Bums (Ben Chasny and Donovan Quinn).
