The café at the Marks & Spencer in York closed today (Sunday).
But it is due to return after a refit as a coffee shop.
Work to refit the café on the top floor of the Pavement store will begin tomorrow (Monday, 17 March).
No date has been set for its ropening. But it took six weeks for another store to transform the café into its new look.
M&S York said on Facebook: “Something exciting is happening very very soon!
“Our café will be having a little makeover and will be closed from 17th March.”
Signs in the store say: “Change is on the menu”, and that the café will be closed “while we bring your fresh new M&S Coffee Shop to life”.
The café is popular with visitors and locals alike, and has a stunning view across the rooftops to York Minster.

It has a 3.5 out of 5 rating on TripAdvisor, with many praising its friendly services despite it often being busy.
M&S has been rolling out its new Coffee Shops to stores over the last few months.
