An NHS mental health trust has announced a new running event.
Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV) will run a 10k in York next year.
The TEWV 10k is the first of its kind from the mental health, learning disability and autism NHS Trust.
Taking place on Sunday 21 April at Knavesmire, inside York Racecourse, the event invites hundreds of people to take on the flat course.
Emma Brookshaw, a modern matron at the trust and organiser of the event, said: “We have a passion for wellbeing in TEWV and believe we are the first NHS Trust in the region to organise our own 10k running event. We are so excited to bring this new wellbeing event to York.
“I love running and I want other people to experience how amazing it can make you feel, both physically and mentally.
“We are also looking for volunteers to host cheer zones and support the participants along the way, so please get in touch if you would like to join us on the day.”
TEWV 10k is open to people of all running abilities and the entry fee will go towards the staging of the event.
