A man in his late 70s was attacked as he walked his dog on a busy York street.
The violent assault took place on Osbaldwick Lane at around 4.15pm on Monday (29 January).
A man targeted the victim as he passed a bus stop on the road.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Yorkshire Ambulance Service attended the scene, and the man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.
“Although several witnesses have already come forward, it is believed there were more people in the vicinity who saw the assault or the events surrounding it and officers are urging these people to come forward.”

A man in his 30s has been charged with wounding and was remanded to appear in court today (Wednesday, 31 January).
