It’s almost the final stage of York Literature Festival / YorkMix Poetry Competition 2014.
From a total 926 poems submitted by 291 poets, judge Carole Bromley today reveals the shortlist of 50 titles.
Judging is now taking place. Winners and commended poets will be informed on Monday March 10.
They will be invited to read their winning entries at a special prizegiving event at Friargate Theatre on Sunday, March 23.
Carole Bromley will comment on the competition and also read from a selection of her work, including poems from her acclaimed 2011 Smith / Doorstop collection A Guided Tour Of The Ice House.
Tickets for that event can be purchased here or via the theatre box office on 01904 613000.
