It has been the home to York’s Labour Party for years. But now it is up for sale.
The Holgate Road house is on the market for £495,000. And the Labour Party are now search for a “more suitable property” for their HQ.
Described by estate agents Churchills as a “superb opportunity as a private residential home or investment”, it currently features four offices on the ground floor.

There are two bedrooms, a bathroom, lounge and dining kitchen on the first floor.
Living accommodation is “bright and airy” according to Churchills. One of the big bonuses is the garden, which boasts three brick stores and a 17ft studio space.
Secretary and chair of York Labour, Janis Grant and Bex Widdicombe, sent us a joint statement: “Like many organisations we have worked away from our offices during the pandemic.
“As we have moved back to some office working we have identified limitations of our Holgate Road offices and have decided to look for accommodation that better meets our needs as a community focused political party in York.
“We will use funds generated by the sale to acquire a suitable property.”
Or as one member of the York Conservative Party mischievously said to YorkMix: “Good little capitalists!”
