York will be transformed into a frozen wonderland next weekend – as the York Ice Trail returns!
For 2025, the city will be taking a step back in time with the theme ‘Origins’ – featuring over 30 stunning ice sculptures showcasing York’s rich heritage, celebratory moments from history, and creatures that lived long ago.
York Ice Trail 2025 will take place on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 February from 10:30am.
Use our interactive map to find all the ice sculptures for this year’s trail.
Organised by Make It York, the trail’s sparkling statues are crafted by ice sculpture specialists Icebox. There will also be live ice carving and interactive experiences that visitors of all ages can enjoy.
Win £1,000 with YorkMix
YorkMix will have an ice sculpture in the trail for the fourth year running – and we have another fab competition with the chance to win big.
We’ll once again be inviting visitors to guess how many mini Mixies are trapped inside our caveman-inspired sculpture. If you guess correctly, you’ll be in with a chance of winning £1,000! Don’t miss our ‘Prehistoric Mixie Monster‘ sculpture on Parliament Street and your chance to win.
Take a look at the full list of sculptures below, from participating York businesses and attractions like Ate O’Clock, Middletons, The Milner, and the Coppergate Centre.
