Heidi Calpin, 10, from York has raised over £300 for St Leonard’s Hospice with her amazing handmade bracelets.
Heidi makes all the bracelets by hand using colourful clay beads, and were already a hit with her family and friends.
After her grandad sadly passed away earlier this year, Heidi was inspired to raise money for St Leonard’s Hospice, who had looked after her grandad, by selling her bracelets – and after a post about the bracelets was shared on Facebook has already raised around £360 for the charity.
“She’s done so well,” Heidi’s mother, Bernie Calpin, told YorkMix. “And seems to have gone viral!” Heidi’s friend, Macey, also makes and sells bracelets to raise money for the hospice, and so far has raised £50.
Heidi and Macey will be selling their creations at the YorkMix Variety Night for St Leonard’s Hospice.
The YorkMix Variety Night takes place tomorrow, Friday 23 February, at Impossible Wonderbar in York from 7pm.
The event will be raising money for St Leonard’s Hospice, and is part of the Accumulator Challenge where we aim to turn £30 into more money for the Hospice.
“She’s so excited,” said Bernie. “Heidi and her friend have been busy all week trying to make at least 50 bracelets for tomorrow.
“She’s hoping to get her target up to £400.”
The bracelets are priced at £2 each or a donation.
Alongside Heidi’s amazing bracelets, there will be lots of entertainment on the night including bingo, a live Quizzical, disco, magic show, raffle, and much more!
“I can’t reiterate enough how amazing the hospice are,” said Bernie. “Heidi says they are like angels.”
