This was the damage done after a flat fire in York.
Firefighters put out the blaze last month – and they have released this picture to urge people to follow safety advice.
In a post on Facebook, York Fire Station said: “Last month we attended a flat fire which started due to a cigarette not being fully extinguished before the occupier went to bed.
“Luckily no one was hurt and the internal doors in the flat were closed which protected the rest of the property.
“If you smoke we suggest using a fireproof ashtray and putting some water in the bottom to ensure cigarettes are fully extinguished.”
