Something new is moving into Stonegate – after the unit has stood empty for nearly five years.
The empty shop was previously home to the fashion retailer Cath Kidston, which closed when the brand shut down all 60 of its UK shops during the pandemic in 2020.
Now, finally, something is moving in! The social enterprise Fabrication is set to relocate there this January.
Fabrication, currently operating on Coney Street, supports local artists and makers in Leeds and York.
Their stockists contribute to rent and work in the shop and in return they help with their business development, mentor and of course sales.
There is also a gallery space too.
Products on sale include paintings, jewellery, candles, wax melts, ornaments and homeware.
Fabrication also run craft workshops and classes.
An opening date is yet to be revealed for the new location on Stonegate, but it’s set to open this month and preparations are well underway, according to their social media.
Fabrication also has a location in Leeds.
