People are starting to get into the Coronation spirit – even those curmudgeons at the York Dungeon.
They have a very special offer: hand in your copy of Prince Harry’s memoir Spare and get free entry!
The Clifford Street attraction see it as their royal duty to our new King to clear the streets of the controversial book on Coronation day this Saturday (6 May).
This limited offer is available to the first 75 guests who hand over their Spare volume to the Dungeon, a nod to the King’s age as he takes to the throne.
General manager at York Dungeon Mark Mattinson said: “The Royal Family and its colourful history has always been part of our attraction’s narrative, so it was important for us to honour His Majesty on the occasion of his Coronation.
“And what better way than by removing all controversial and unwanted literature, keeping the streets fit for our new King!”
The limited-time offer will be running on Saturday (6 May) only and will be valid for guests who present their copy of Prince Harry’s Spare memoir to the ticket office. The books will be distributed to charity shops around York after the Coronation .
Visitors to York Dungeon get the chance to scream and laugh through 2,000 years of York’s most haunted history. More on their website.
