Chief Executive of York CVS, Angela Portz, has announced that she will be leaving the organisation in July.
York Council for Voluntary Service, based at Priory Street Centre, offers support and advice to charities, community groups and social enterprises in the city. Recent projects include the Timebank, We Are Your Emporium, and the proposed transformation of Oliver House.
Angela said: “After three tremendously busy and exciting years with York CVS I have taken the big decision to move on. I will be leaving in July to pursue a more flexible way of working that I hope will secure a greater degree of work-life balance; I think the fashionable phrase is a portfolio career!
“Despite the challenging economic climate, we have been able to gain planning permission for a renovation of Oliver House into a health and social care hub, secure Transforming Local Infrastructure Funding to develop new partnerships, and won the contract to deliver Healthwatch York.
“The staff and volunteer team here are second to none. Every day presents a privileged opportunity to learn about the tremendous work that the charity sector does to support those who live, work and volunteer in this great city.”
